What injuries can simulate a dislocated shoulder?

A fracture of the shoulder can either mimic or mask the posterior dislocation.

Anterior dislocation, with the typical deformity and severe pain can be confused only with very specific cases, such as a fracture of anatomical neck of humerus called or the neck of the glenoid, and also the fragments are very displaced. But they are very rare situations.

What can the patient do with a dislocated shoulder?

In very evolved, who have had multiple dislocations and pain is minimal, the patient knows how to fit his own shoulder.Typically the pain is so intense that the patient can not do anything but keep the arm in a sling and go to an emergency room. It is very important to prompt action, including obtaining the necessary x-rays, since the half-hour begins with muscle contractures.
