If we listen to the saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. And it is not unreasonable, especially if we consider the significant benefits that the humble apple can contribute to our health, with the advantage that there are many varieties, making it hard not to find one that we like and to help us be healthy.

The apple is rich in a substance called pectin, a soluble fiber that is very beneficial for our digestive system as it helps to balance it. Pectin helps protect the stomach, so it is recommended to treat ulcers and digestive aid digestion.

On the other hand, pectin also helps control cholesterol levels, and different studies have confirmed that taking two apples a day can do to reduce your cholesterol by 10%.

Moreover, recent investigations have revealed that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by two phytochemicals contained especially in the shell, such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which, acting together, give the fruit this power anti-carcinogenic.

It also has high content of vitamin E, which leads to her being a powerful antioxidant, useful for combating the effects of free radicals on our skin.

On the other hand is also rich in tannins, a substance that cleans and inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, and it is highly recommended for people with bowel-related disorders. For more quantity of tannins, natural medicine recommend eating grated apple pulp after leaving an air time (when it starts to oxidize and change color), together with a little honey and yogurt.

The so-called anti-inflammatory diet is actually a lifelong diet that provides health and helps to control weight.

The anti-inflammatory diet has recently gained popularity in the United States because several authors have identified it as a variation of the Mediterranean diet. The objective of this diet is to counteract the inflammatory diet due to food procesadis: rich in omega-6 fatty acids but low in omega-3.

The inflammation in the body lead to poor health and eating to avoid constant inflammation promotes better health and can alleviate the disease.

Diseases such as arthritis or appendicitis are due to some type of inflammation. But cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancer, including Alzheimer’s disease, can be triggered in part by inflammation.

In general, an anti-inflammatory diet should follow the following guidelines:

* Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
* Minimize consumption of saturated fat and trans fat.
* Eat a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, like fish or fish oil supplements and walnuts.
* Watch your intake of refined carbs like pasta and white rice.
* Eat plenty of whole grains like rice and bulgur wheat.
* Make lean protein sources like chicken, moderate consumption of red meat and high fat dairy foods.
* Avoid refined foods and processed foods.

Proponents say this type of diet that can reduce cardiovascular disease and rheumatoid arthritis.

What is healthy lifestyle?

Healthy lifestyles are a global strategy, which is part of a modern trend in health is basically framed in disease prevention and health promotion perhaps the key moment of this trend or the beginning of this trend was 2004 and were generated by a declaration by the world health organization, to improve risk factors such as unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle, healthy lifestyles are related to eating and physical activity to prevent such diseases metabolic, cardiovascular, today we are facing an epidemic quoted or unquoted, an epidemic of these diseases and in whom obesity is perhaps more relevant is that since late figures of overweight and obesity in different countries the world both developed and developing towards increasing dangerously.

Recommendations of a balanced diet to maintain a healthy lifestyle:

There are several recommendations, but perhaps there are two points that are key to three points are key, the first is that in all societies there is a deficit in current consumption of fruits and vegetables in the diet of people, we know that fruits and vegetables are important to be consumed by all people of all ages primarily because they are rich in vitamins and trace elements in fiber, especially the latter case important to the prevention of certain diseases like some cancers, the second point is to be reduced to having a healthy diet of saturated fats present in foods that are derived or animal are basically very red meat and greasy foods, processed meats such as sausages and basically this is increase consumption of fish due to their wealth primarily in omega 3 fatty acids that are beneficial to health then it is recommended to increase to 2 servings of fish per week minimum.
