What is it?

Cervical Cancer “Cervical” is a tumor of the cervix (uterus).

The Pap smear is the only way we can discover a cancer of the cervix to 10 or 15 years before it shows up and when it is still curable.

During this exam, your doctor will do a pelvic exam, as illustrated below, to check for any mass or other abnormalities in her uterus, ovaries or other organs.

Why there is cervical cancer?

This cancer is caused by the presence of human papilloma virus (HPV), which is acquired during sex and hurts women susceptible.
