<p><strong>The AECI joins the International Health Partnership (IHP)</strong> for health sector development in Ethiopia</p>
<p>The signing of the IHP Compact will accelerate progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals related to health.</p>
<p>IHP Compact signed between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and its development partners and international agencies as part of the IHP (International Health Partnership), which has joined the Spanish Agency of International Development Cooperation in Ethiopia. The implementation of this Compact will help accelerate progress towards achieving the MDGs through the Health Sector Development Program of Health in Ethiopia (HSDP).<span id="more-15"></span></p>
<p>The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia by the Minister of Health, Dr. Tedros Adhanom and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development Ato Mekonnen Manyazewal, and representatives of 12 international aid agencies working in the Germany: European Commission, DFID, AECI, Netherlands Cooperation, Italian Cooperation, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, Global Fund, UNAIDS, World Bank and African Development Bank.</p>
<p>The Minister stressed during the signing ceremony of the IHP Compact puts into Ethiopia and the signatory countries to the head of the donor harmonization process and in implementing the Paris agenda in the health sector in Africa, and marks a milestone in the history of relations between the government and its cooperation partners in the country, and expressed his gratitude to the signatory agencies.</p>
