Synthetic Ingredients in Cosmetics: Dyes, Solvents and Others
Dyes
They are substances used to give the desired color to creams, shower gels, stains, dyes, etc.. Well, many of them have shown, at least in animals, to be highly carcinogenic and alter the DNA molecules. It can be recognized because their names include the syllables aniline or anilide-for example, acetanilide, or by other, more simple and HC (HC Orange 3), Acid (Acid Red 73) or Pigment (Pigment Green 7).
Solvents
Many studies link solvents with the increased incidence of cancer. Some of them, such as those containing isopropyl-term is also used as solvents in paints and are part of the composition of car antifreeze. It is a petroleum derivative, however, the conventional cosmetic industry includes hair dyes, hand creams, exfoliators, creams and shaving foam, cologne, and many other cosmetics.
Artificial fragrances
We talked about very cheap fragrances and easily produced in addition to perfumes, shower gels, soaps, deodorants, baby products, shampoos, hand and body creams, etc. They are considered dangerous because they are bioaccumulative and is suspected to cause disturbances in reproductive and endocrine systems.
It has also been observed that once the skin can cause allergies, headaches, dizziness, cough, dark patches on the skin, loss of concentration and even cancer. Among many others, is hiding in denominations as acetyl hexamethyl that affects the nervous system or bromocinnamal, which is irritating to the skin. One of the most used is the tonalide.
