Green Tea good for Psoriasis

In a study with rats, slipped psoriasis as reduced inflammation
According to a study in the U.S., can green tea shows promise as a new treatment for psoriasis and other skin inflammatory conditions such as dandruff and lupus-related lesions.
Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia found that the green tea slowed the growth of skin cells of mice genetically tend to have psoriasis.
The findings appear in the August 18 edition of the journal Experimental Dermatology.
“Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease, causing the skin to become thicker because the growth of skin cells outside the” control, said in a prepared statement Dr. Stephen Hsu, an oral biologists at the MCG School of Dentistry. “In psoriasis, immune cells that normally protect against infection, triggering the release of cytokines that cause inflammation and overproduction of skin cells.”
Previous research has shown that green tea helps suppress inflammation.
Hsu and colleagues suggested that green tea helps treat psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases by regulating expression of caspase-14, a protein gene that regulates the life cycle of skin cells.
“That marker guides cells by telling them when to differentiate, die or form the skin barrier. In people with psoriasis, the process is interrupted and the skin cells do not die before more are created and the shape of lesions produced” Hsu said.
